The recent drought in Port Elizabeth has made people drop their guard when it comes to considering the possibilities of flooding, leaking roofs and parking in areas most likely to cause harm to you or your vehicle.
Janine sent this image below of a vehicle that will probably have problems starting once the water subsides in the Walmer Park Underground parking area:
Edit: OKay the jig is up, shortly after posting this image eagle eyed visitor Lins, queried the authenticity of the image and we can only say; “Well spotted Lins, the Walmer Park Underground parking area is much neater and has white painted supporting pillars. Also the water in this image is river water. There is a stream close by to Walmer Park though.”

Bigger note to self – NEVER trust everything that you see and hear.
After seeing this picture last night, I so badly wanted to hop in my car and go and do an inspection, as we have, in the past, had heavier rain than what fell last night. Alas, I found the conditions a little off putting and waited for this morning to dart off to my favourite shopping centre, only to find it beautifully clean with not even a single little puddle in sight.
Unfortunately I can not take credit for the picture, but as soon as I manage to trace the origins, I shall most definitely give credit, where credit is due.
Must say that I was a few steps ahead of the BS because it struck me that no engineer would design a buildings underground parking to flood with a mere 70mm of rain over 24 hours, especially when this had not happened when we last had real floods, 5 years or so ago. It does go to prove how believing we are of so-called facts being circulated by email.
