The Nelson Mandela Bay, Constituency office will host a National Women’s month event on Friday, August 29, 2014. The event is meant to appreciate and recognize the selfless contributions made by South African women. These contributions were characterised by amongst many, the 9th August 1956 National Women’s march against the introduction of pass laws and other suppressive legislations by apartheid government.
Various activities of cultural diversity including messages from political parties and women’s organisations will mark the day in respect of the heroines that took a stand against gender inequalities.
This day is normally held on 09 August but due to other urgent service delivery commitments the Nelson Mandela Bay could not host the event at that time.
State departments like, South African Social Security Agency, Department of Social Development, Correctional, and others have been invited to provide services on wheels to the community of Kuyga.
The event will take place on 29 August 2014 at the Kuyga Community Hall, Greenbushes starting from 09h00.
