Nelson Mandela Bay Summer Load Shedding Schedules

The load shedding schedules from 7 September 2015 to 6 December 2015 download links are below.

This information does not suggest in any way that there will or there will not be load shedding. It is just to empower residents, businesses and stakeholders at large so that they can plan better and decrease the effects of load shedding when it happens.

Please note the following:

  • Low demand season are summer months September – May
  • Morning summer peak period:   08H00 – 10H00
  • Evening summer peak period:   18H00 – 20H00
  • New schedules cover period 7 September 2015 to 6 December 2015
  • Stage 2, 3 and 4 are extensions of stages 1, 2 and 3 respectively
  • Even-hour timeslots
  • All groups are distributed evenly over 8-day cycle for each stage
  • Schedules minimise double shedding when a change in stage occurs
  • Schedules valid for 3 months only as it is revised as and when changes are required

Historical data proves unlikeness of load shedding between 22H00 and 06H00. Between 22H00 and 06H00, Stage 1 and Stage 2 have 4 hour timeslots to reduce the impact of switching operations on equipment. This decreases the rotation of groups on the schedule by 2 groups every day.
