The Allanridge Library in Uitenhage will be closed for an indefinite period due to damage caused during the recent senseless attacks on municipal property in the area. All holiday programmes advertised for this library are cancelled and as a result the children from this area will miss out on all the exiting programmes planned at the facility. Library users can return books to any other municipal library in the interim to avoid fines.
Please take note that all libraries will close at 17:00 from Monday to Thursdays during the school holidays.
All libraries except the Main Library in Port Elizabeth will be closed from Friday, 20 December 2013 at 13:00 up to and including Wednesday, 8 January 2014. These libraries will re-open to the public on Thursday, 9 January 2014.
The Main Library in Port Elizabeth Central Business District will be closed from Tuesday, 24 December 2013 at 13:00 up to and including Tuesday, 2 January 2014. The library will re-open to the public on Friday, 3 January 2014 at 09:00.
