Following pioneering HIV&AIDS programmes implemented at Ford, GMSA and a range of leading automotive suppliers, the Automotive Industry Development Centre’s Workplace Wellness Co-ordinator, Arnelle Heynes has been appointed as governor on the SABCOHA Board in the Eastern Cape.

Heynes, will represent the Nelson Mandela Bay region and joins on the board Jan Muller of AHI (Cacadu District), Nolundi Ndudane of Eskom (Amatole District) Johan Wege –  Agriculture (Chris Hani District) Dr Clifford Panter of MBSA (Buffalo City) and  Kumbuza Gwilisa of Gwilisa Funeral services (O R Tambo District).

Governors are still to be appointed to represent the Alfred Nzo District and Joe Gqabi District.

Heynes’ appointment, says AIDC Supplier Development manager Lance Schultz, is “a significant achievement that bears testimony to the hard work and efficacy of workplace wellness programmes established by the AIDC.”

“Arnelle’s appointment will strengthen SABCOHA’s objectives and enhance the AIDC’s role within the network of Wellness and HIV&AIDS support.

SABCOHA’s governance protocol provides for a business representative from each district. The board will facilitate alignment of the business sector’s agenda to that of the Multi-sectoral initiatives with particular reference to the new Provincial Strategic Plan and will facilitate engagement with government and other stakeholders.
