Prospective clients of the Korsten Traffic Department must be mindful that due to an underground LV cable fault that resulted in an electricity outage in the area since yesterday morning (Tuesday, May 29), services are still affected to this centre.
Driver’s license tests as well as learner’s license tests are still taking place but documentation cannot be issued, the digital phone system is also affected resulting in clients not getting through to the centre and the issuing of driver’s license cards can also not be done. Those clients who find it difficult to take the learner’s tests under the reduced lighting condition are accommodated. The Traffic Department is currently working on an operational plan to ensure that a possible backlog is dealt with speedily.
In the meantime the electricity department located the problem areas and is working on the restoration of the electricity supply. However a timeframe is still not available and if clients urgently require licensing services they will have to transact with the Uitenhage Traffic Department.
