How do you know there are Hobo’s in your area?

12 October 2012 By Alan Straton

On Friday 5 October the Longhair and I were on our way to the Chartroom for lunch on the deck when we spotted a couple of gentleman sprucing themselves and their clothes up ahead of the weekend.

The only strange thing about it was that they had hung their clothes up on the island on the corner of Mount Road and Govan Mbeki Avenue – see the images below. I hope that it was a big weekend guys – so nice of you to consider the sensitive noses of the folk that you beg, borrow or steal from, much easier to get into their personal space with clean clothes I am sure.

Mount Road Washing
I like to think that the guy in the blue overall has decided to cut the verge whilst he waits for his clothes to dry!
Mount Road Washing
This guy is pretty nonchalant about drying his clothes on the bush – it is HELL in Africa boet!

Passionate about Port Elizabeth and definitely NOT packing for Perth. Alan's ethos is epitomised in the words of Nelson Mandela; "I have fought against white domination and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the idea of a democratic and free society. If need be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die." See more articles by Alan.
