The long term partnership between the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality and Kraft Foods reached another milestone yesterday when renovated classes in five schools were handed over to the beneficiaries.
The Executive Mayor, Clr. Zanoxolo Wayile, at the official handover said; “These refurbished schools presents a foundation to enlighten and encourage learners to come to school as the new environment is presenting a sense of belonging and will make a positive impact on the learning experience of these young learners, as they have a classroom of their own of which they will be very proud.
“Needless to say, Kraft Foods SA is responding positively to the education challenges and to our call for partnership. Since 2008, they have invested R3 million into four primary schools in the Nelson Mandela Metro. They are refurbishing and renovating school classrooms and libraries, and providing bursaries to needy students and supporting non-governmental organizations who continue to provide invaluable educational resources and services, of which the Langa-Kwanobuhle Self Help Exchange (SHARE) are the worthy recipients of the R67 000, the proceeds of a Kraft Foods initiative on Mandela Day.”
