First New Council Meeting

In terms of Section 19 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, a meeting of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Council will be held at the Conference Centre, Old Wool Exchange Building, Military Road, Port Elizabeth on Tuesday, 31 May 2011 at 09:00.

The election of the Speaker, Executive Mayor, Deputy Executive Mayor and the swearing in of newly elected councillors as political office bearers is expected to take place. Amongst other important matters, the institution’s 2011/12 Capital and Operating Budgets that subscribes to the principle of spending 80% of its budget in previously disadvantaged wards and 20% in developed areas, will also receive attention.

Members of the public who wish to attend this meeting must please contact Mrs Charné Wepener during normal office hours at 041 506 3230 by not later than Monday, 30 May 2011 at 12:00, in order to make the necessary seating arrangements.
