An accident between a motorbike and a car took place at approximately 14h30 on Thursday 24 July at the intersection of Metz and Sedan Roads in Lorraine.
The motorcyclist died on the scene whilst his passenger the two occupants of the motor vehicle were rushed to hospital. Their conditions are critical.
At this stage, the cause of the accident is unknown, but it is believed that speed could be a contributing factor.
A case of culpable homicide has been opened and will be investigated.

Hello Alan,
I cannot understand why those who were unhappy about the decision of the police did not approach the station commander at the Walmer police station nearby or lay a charge themselves, both options which are open to them.
They could also report the incident to the Social Welfare authorities which may be the more effective method in this case. Hopefully someone took the vehicles’s registration number or even perhaps a photo of the incident and the vehicle.
The police officers in attendance would have had to document this incident somehow at the Walmer police station if they followed their correct procedures.
We as members of the public need to force the police to be much more accountable than we do, instead of just whining about such matters anf getting nowhere.
