DUMPING OF REFUSE

7 October 2013 By Port Elizabethan

Good day,

I do not know who to turn to regarding the dumping of refuse on the corner of my house, I pay my rates and monthly refuse charges and have to wake up to this mess every morning. The municipal workers will not pick up this refuse unless in bags. Could you please direct me to a person or someone who could assist with my complaint.

Kind regards

Thelma Myburgh.

Editor’s notes: Thelma confirmed that there are a number of tenanted homes around here and that these tenants are responsible. Thelma also confirmed that a neighbour sometimes pays fro a labourer to pick up the rubbish which is a throat gagging task whenever baby nappies form part of the mess.

We have referred Thelma’s concerns to her councillor in Ward 3 and await feedback.

    Update from Thelma:

    Good morning Alan

When I arrived home last night the area was cleared.

Thank you for your assistance, I trust that the Councillor will assist to ensure that the problem is eliminated.

    Have a good day.

    Kind regards
    Thelma
