I watched your video when you first posted it all those years ago and felt uneasy, very uneasy for you and South Africa.

You reminded me of when I used to tell my children to leave their phones at home before going out on the piss for one simple reason; “Alcohol, stupidity and Social Media will destroy you one day!”

Now after watching your video again, noting your suspension by the DA and feeling that deep dread for you in the pit of my stomach I cannot rejoice at all the kak being heaped upon your head.

I too, like other National Servicemen, have done stuff that I was deeply ashamed of whilst feeling that the means justified the end so feel for the real troubles and dark demons that will infest your head for the next 40 years as you recover. The demons will come when you least expect them – be prepared and man up.

Lying about the video to your bosses at the DA has also disappointed old white men who did National Service even more. “What the fuck were you thinking? Did you honestly believe that you would get away with that?”

Be a man when you are caught doing kak, and OWN the narrative of apology and forgiveness. The time to go all out and be in charge of the narrative has passed I am afraid.

You were caught in the crosshairs of expediency. Why? Think on this: Whenever a new CEO or boss takes over they look for headcounts to sacrifice just to send a message to the rest of the peasants that they had better buckle up and work like demons. Geesuz, the DA is already tarred with the ‘racists’ brush – did you think that the opposition would take your appointment lying down?

I read comments of support from all these supporters pointing at Jacob, Julius and his ilk and making apologies for your rage because of these miscreants with motor mouths lacking brakes and feel a teensy bit guilty at being sympathetic for your plight.

BUT, I think the reason why I feel sympathy/empathy is possibly a little bit elitist as I note a Hoërskool Brandwag and Nelson Mandela University educated personmouthing off like a real common guttersnipe. Renaldo, with that education you should know better than those with a Std 3 or those who failed at Woodworking.

I thought that you were better than this Renaldo Gouws.

Leave the judgement and sentence to the courts and please teach this lesson to all those with an adverse opinion, a phone and a social media account.
