DA Terminates Renaldo Gouws’ Membership

13 September 2024 By Alan Straton

The DA has confirmed that the party’s Federal Executive has unanimously resolved to terminate Mr Renaldo Gouws’ membership. Mr Gouws has been formally informed of this decision. He therefore forfeits his DA seat in Parliament. This decision follows a thorough investigation conducted by the DA's Federal Legal Commission (FLC) into the allegations against Mr Gouws. The FLC found Mr Gouws guilty of contravening several sections of the DA's constitution. The DA remains committed to upholding … [Read more...] about DA Terminates Renaldo Gouws’ Membership

Dear Renaldo Gouws, This is What Old White Men Think

20 June 2024 By Alan Straton

Or maybe JUST this Old White former National Serviceman! I watched your video when you first posted it all those years ago and felt uneasy, very uneasy for you and South Africa. You reminded me of when I used to tell my children to leave their phones at home before going out on the piss for one simple reason; "Alcohol, stupidity and Social Media will destroy you one day!" Now after watching your video again, noting your suspension by the DA and feeling that deep dread for you in the pit … [Read more...] about Dear Renaldo Gouws, This is What Old White Men Think

Gqeberha’s Renaldo Gouws Suspended

20 June 2024 By Port Elizabethan

Letters to the Editor

The DA has established that the video, in which Renaldo Gouws uses execrable language, is in fact genuine and not a fake as initially suspected. The DA Federal Executive has therefore suspended Mr Gouws with immediate effect while he faces disciplinary charges before the Party's Federal Legal Commission. … [Read more...] about Gqeberha’s Renaldo Gouws Suspended

Coalition of corruption not serious about unemployment in Nelson Mandela Bay

3 July 2020 By Alan Straton

Letters to the Editor

Dear MyPE. The inability of the NeIson Mandela Bay Municipality to spend grant funding meant to alleviate unemployment in a Metro that is beset by poverty, is a clear indication that the current ANC-led coalition of corruption does not have the interests of the people at heart. At a time when people are desperate for work and unemployment is skyrocketing, the municipality has failed to spend money given to them by national government, for the sole purpose of creating jobs. This came to … [Read more...] about Coalition of corruption not serious about unemployment in Nelson Mandela Bay

For the survival of SMMEs we propose:

Letters to the Editor

NMB needs plan to assist economy during Covid-19 pandemic Dear MyPE The devastating impact of Covid-19 is felt around the world and Nelson Mandela Bay is no exception to the rule. Now more than ever the municipality needs to assist where we can to ensure that our economy survives this turbulent time. Local businesses are the hardest hit and the latest restraint on trade on restaurants, pubs, and clubs, in which they cannot trade after 18:00, could potentially have a massive negative … [Read more...] about For the survival of SMMEs we propose:

Gqeberha or Port Elizabeth

6 March 2020 By Port Elizabethan

Letters to the Editor

NMB economy needs a change of government, not a name change https://youtu.be/scQ8eAQewO0 Dear MyPE The economy of Nelson Mandela Bay (NMB) needs a new government and not a new name. The recommendation by the Eastern Cape Geographical Names Committee (ECGNC) to change the name of Port Elizabeth to Gqeberha must be strongly opposed by the Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Nathi Mthethwa. I have written to the DA’s Shadow Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Tsepo Mhlongo, MP, … [Read more...] about Gqeberha or Port Elizabeth

By-election: DA romps home in Ward 2

7 March 2019 By Port Elizabethan

Letters to the Editor

Dear MyPE The Democratic Alliance (DA) yesterday romped home to a stunning victory in the Ward 2 by-election held in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro. The DA’s candidate, Renaldo Gouws, obtained 3400 votes which is 93,36% of the valid votes cast. Altogether 3642 votes were cast. The DA increased its share of the vote in Ward 2 and obtained more votes than in the 2016 local government elections, up from 90% to 93,36%. This result is a resounding vote of confidence in the DA. This … [Read more...] about By-election: DA romps home in Ward 2

Welcome to the idiot club Renaldo Gouws

Roland Williams and Renaldo Gouws

Dear Renaldo Gouws I read with interest your 26 March tirade against Mr Roland Williams where you accuse him of "living off the fat of the land" and not really contributing much to the collective soul of our beautiful city. I must, sadly for you, take umbrage at your timing as my friend Roland Williams was scheduled to attend an important Press Conference that day - one that is bringing an international focus to our beautiful city. PLUS dear Roland was also invited to a civic reception … [Read more...] about Welcome to the idiot club Renaldo Gouws
