Dear Julius; ‘Are You Telling me that these WHITE ANC Members Voted for the DA?’

5 June 2011 By Alan Straton

On Saturday 4 June ANC Youth League president Julius Malema said it was not true that he had driven white voters away from the ruling party.

“I never drove them (whites) away. They have never voted for us (the ANC),” he said during the KwaZulu-Natal youth league’s provincial congress at the Durban City Hall.

Well Julius I have trolled through the listings of the ANC Members of Parliament in the National Assembly as provided on the official web site of the ANC – you should visit there sometime, it may raise your level of education somewhat, just get a friend to help you turn your computer on.

On the above listing I foumd a number of white ANC members of Parliament in the National Assembly – remember this is only one area of governance.

I have ONE question for you; “Are you saying that these white ANC members did NOT vote for themselves and nor did their white family or white friends?”, “How the hell did they get into power then, huh, huh, huh?”

White ANC Members of Parliament in the National Assembly (each name is linked to the member’s profile on the ANC web site):

  1. Comrade Ainslie, Arthur Roy
  2. Comrade Botha, Yolanda Rachel
  3. Comrade Cronin, Jeremy Patrick
  4. Comrade Davies, Robert Haydn
  5. Comrade De Lange, Johannes Hendricks (Johnny)
  6. Comrade Fubbs, Joanmariae Louise
  7. Comrade Hanekom, Derek Andre
  8. Comrade Hogan, Barbara Anne
  9. Comrade Jeffery, John Harold
  10. Comrade Koornhof, Gerhard
  11. Comrade Nel, Andries Carl
  12. Comrade Snell, Grant Trevor
  13. Comrade Turok, Ben
  14. Comrade van der Merwe, Sue
  15. Comrade van Rooyen, David Douglas
  16. Comrade van Schalkwyk, Marthinus C.J
  17. Comrade van Wyk, Annelize
  18. Comrade Williams, Adrian John
Marthinus van Schalkwyk as a black man.

I may have got one or two of the above wrong so may we agree to blame my mistakes on Jimy Manyi’s “oversupply of coloureds in the Western Cape” remark or, better yet, “on my fading ability to sniff out the difference in the races”.

Don’t worry Julius – as the white ANC members get older they may become black and more acceptable to your little racist mind just like the artist impression of Marthinus van Schalkwyk here.

You are welcome to add any names of proud white ANC voting members, councillors, MP’s etc in the comments section below. I am sure that as soon as Julius learns how to read he will pop along to see just which of his comrades are white and that voted ANC.

Passionate about Port Elizabeth and definitely NOT packing for Perth. Alan's ethos is epitomised in the words of Nelson Mandela; "I have fought against white domination and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the idea of a democratic and free society. If need be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die." See more articles by Alan.

      Thank You.

We live in hope that we will one day all accept that being South African means joining hands with our fellow South Africans and putting the country first in all that we say and do.

Indeed. And to get there we should do our best to remove people like Malema from their positions, because if he becomes President our beautiful country and it’s people will suffer greatly.

The ANCYL need to change their name to the ANC Children’s League – that’s more in line with the way they and their so-called leader behave. However, they also need to look up the meaning of the word youth – that said, don’t underestimate Malema because he’s no fool.
