Cool and Wet Ocean Racing Series

17 November 2013 By Alan Straton

The cool and wet conditions in Nelson Mandela Bay on Sunday morning didn’t damped the spirits of over 300 hardy participants as they took to Hobie Beach for Round 4 of the Ocean Racing Series which takes place on alternate Sunday mornings in the city.

The Series is unique in that it offers 5 simultaneously running events to take part in each race day and is ideal for families wanting to spend time on the beach getting fit.

The Series is currently in it’s 9th Season and will return to Hobie Beach on Sunday 1st December for Round 5.

Chief Cook, Bottle Washer and Broom Mechanic at MyPE
Passionate about Port Elizabeth and definitely NOT packing for Perth. Alan's ethos is epitomised in the words of Nelson Mandela; "I have fought against white domination and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the idea of a democratic and free society. If need be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die." See more articles by Alan.
