Clicks Greenacres trading as normal after Checkers fire

By

Clicks Greenacres has not been affected by the fire which broke out this morning at Greenacres Shopping Centre in PE.

Michael Harvey, MD of Clicks, has confirmed that Clicks is trading as normal and open for business.

“Clicks Greenacres is on the other side of the shopping centre from the fire, so we did not experience any disruptions. The parking lot on the Checkers side has been temporarily closed, but customers to Clicks can park near the Shoprite or Woolies entrances, which are open to the public.”

According to centre management, the fire broke out this morning around 3am in the House and Home store. No one was injured and investigations are underway as to the cause of the fire.

The fire has since been extinguished.

  1. THE ROADS AROUND GREENACRES (RING AND CAPE) ARE STRATEGICALLY IMPORTANT AND IN THE EVENT OF EVACUATION OF THE HOSPITAL OR THE SHOPPING CENTRE THERE WILL BE MAJOR PROBLEMS. WHY NOT MAKE PART OF WESTVIEW DRIVE A ONE WAY UP OR DOWN AT PEAK TIMES.
