Become Mommy’s Greek God Again

5 October 2011 By Alan Straton

Do you go to Facebook looking for an Electrician?
Thought not.

Social media is definitely a great problem solver but, like a telephone, you have to know who you are gonna ask.

In the middle of the night your pipes burst or your distribution board blows plunging you into the terror of a cold or no shower in the morning. You immediately climb onto Facebook and Twitter whilst your wife mumbles; “He never asks for directions and now this ……..” The plaintive plea for assistance to find an artisan goes out, you Tweet and ask and in return you get your one drunk mate who keeps on sending you the name of a tool person named Candy – even I know that this is NOT the type of problem solver that you want in your home, with your wife, at 1:00 am in the morning.

In situations like these you need to stay focused and get info quickly so, eventually, you turn to everyone’s old friend, Google and type in the magical words ‘plumbers port elizabeth‘ and Google quickly refers you to the Plumbers Listings on MyPE – a comprehensive list of plumbers in the Port Elizabeth area, sorted by popularity and also rated by the community.

Bang and you are sorted.

Picture Mommy in a negligee handing you a whisky whilst you puff that cigar and think naughty Bill Clinton thoughts.

You DON’T need a web site to add your business to the Port Elizabeth Directory for FREE – start here and claim your space.

Passionate about Port Elizabeth and definitely NOT packing for Perth. Alan's ethos is epitomised in the words of Nelson Mandela; "I have fought against white domination and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the idea of a democratic and free society. If need be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die." See more articles by Alan.
