does anyone have old video of PE from the 60s,70s,80s perhaps ?
I agree with that! Once it is gone and the rails are pulled up by thieves
it will be VERY difficult to restore this gem of Port Elizabeth and the
Eastern Cape. With the right people managing and marketing it and with
volunteers that do not get paid but who volunteer because they love steam,
it will succeed. Come on now Apple Express Society, pay your dues, pull
your fingers out and get this heritage asset back on the rails before there
is nothing left of the line and infrastructure!!!!!!
Watching this I actually get sad thinking that Transnet feels nothing for
the Apple Express allowing it to be lost to tourism in Port Elizabeth
Just look at what your TransNet guys have let slip through their fingers.
And once its lost ……its lost for good. Here was a world class piece of
line in stunning country……you will never know what you had until its
gone……..so dont let it fail……..the franchise is up for bids….hang
on to it!! Good luck & hope to see you one day! 🙂
