Protective Behaviours (PB) is a program of safety and empowerment for all people. PB teaches strategies, particularly to children, to keep themselves safe at all times. Every adult who have contact with children – as parent/carer, extended family, friends – and particularly those working with children, will benefit from a free PB workshop.
Free PB information sessions will be presented in Port Elizabeth on Thursday 28 April 2011, Tuesday 3 May 2011 and Wednesday 4 May 2011. Each session will last for 2.5 hours.
Venue to be advised: A voluntary contribution will help to cover the cost of delivering the program.
This Personal Safety Program will present simple safety strategies that adults can easily learn, and then teach to all children they come in contact with.
85% of abuse towards children happens in trusted relationships, often by the immediate family or their friends. PB has been used by children and adults in Australia for 13 years, with overwhelming success.
To take part in a session e-mail Hilda (who will be conducting the session) on hilda@communicateforsuccess.com.au to register. Please ensure that you type “PB” in the subject column and state which one of the three sessions you’d like to attend as well as the suburb you live in.
Hilda O’Callaghan is a qualified trainer who has facilitated learning for the past 22 years throughout Australia. Her website, Communicate for Success has further details regarding her qualifications and work experience.
