In the valley of the Snowden Avenue, Mill Park Conservancy – an incredible initiative from my mate Ronnie Baer – is a stream of water that runs almost constantly.
The conservancy has Mountain Bike Tracks and ramblers paths criss crossing the valley area between Snowden Avenue and Target Kloof.
The area has become a firm favourite for us and the boys as we explore the natural beauty in the heart of our city.
Today we tasted the water. I must hasten to add that the boys have a good nose for decent fresh water and their favourite ‘party trick’ to show their mates is when we go to Schoenies and they drink the fresh water cascading down the slopes into the sea.
After all we all need to learn that water actually comes from the river and NOT taps or bottles!
The joy of drinking water from a river never fades.
Do you remember your first time realising that you wouldn’t get sick if you drank from a fast flowing stream?
