World Spay Day – Making a difference

The Animal Anti-Cruelty League of Port Elizabeth are embarking on a Joint Venture with Animal Outreaches to tackle the Mission Road township for World Spay Day on 26 February. However, these two organisations are expanding the day into a a week of spaying.

There are an estimated 500 dogs in need of sterilisation in the Missionvale area. Animal Outreaches are currently busy with dipping, inoculating and de-worming in the area, prior to the spayathon.

Animal Anti-Cruelty are challenging residents to help raise funds. Each spay will cost R250 and will be a significant contribution to stopping the suffering and death of thousands of unwanted animals born in our townships.

To fundraise for this project it is suggested that you: organise a raffle in your office, or just a simple collection at work; or even better get your company to donate they will get a tax certificate.

Educators are encouraged to get the positive message of sterilisation across in your schools and perhaps have a week or month of raising funds for this extremely important aspect of animal care. Stop the suffering of over-breeding and the starvation of so many unwanted puppies and kittens. You truly can make a difference.
