On 25/05/2019 Paul pledged support for Nelson Mandela Bay’s bid to host the 2021 stopover for The Ocean Race.
Paul Martin says:
NMB is SA’s water sport capital. This is the biggest and most popular long distance yacht race in the world. Lots of TV and media coverage. Will attract lots of visitors (like Ironman). PE ideally placed for Southern Ocean leg. Will show the world that SA is not only Cape Town and will encourage visitors to also visit PE when they come to SA. Bay provides ideal venue for the inshore race with lots of spectator viewpoints
