On 25/05/2019 Paul pledged support for Nelson Mandela Bay's bid to host the 2021 stopover for The Ocean Race. Paul Martin says: NMB is SA's water sport capital. This is the biggest and most popular long distance yacht race in the world. Lots of TV and media coverage. Will attract lots of visitors (like Ironman). PE ideally placed for Southern Ocean leg. Coega Oil Rig Repairs a Major Cause for Concern

The Coega Environmental Monitoring Committee (EMC) meets every month in order to report back on outstanding and upcoming issues within the Coega IDZ and the Port of Nqura.
