These images come from local Ecotourism outfit AB Marine who report seeing a long line of “thousands of dead sardines floating on the surface of Algoa Bay close to St Croix Island.”
The theory is that these fish are the product of over fishing and have been dumped at sea from fishing boats before entering the Port of Port Elizabeth for inspection by officials.
If this is true then this represents a rape of of fishery stock on a large scale.
