Wedding Cake Bums

Every now and then I like to thank people who do things right.

The MyPE business directory allows Port Elizabeth and 041 based businesses to submit their details and be listed for free in the category of their choice.

Along with this ‘FreeDom’ we ask you to not be DOM and follow some simple guidelines – for example: select the right category, don’t CAPITALISE, submit a PE address or 041 telephone number and don’t use spaces in the telephone number. A simple enough request I am sure.

In return we consider your submissions carefully, if necessary add to your description, insert keywords and check spelling and grammar of every submission. In addition if any onformation is not clear we will visit the business web site (if there is one) to check.

Okay I have got it down to a fine art and spend only about two minutes on each submission – in total around 450 hours so far and counting.

It is very seldom that I find a submission that does not require some intervetion from myself to ensure that it conforms to the guidelines. BUT, when I do my day is made. The submission below is outstanding for two reasons: Taryn did it correctly in the Free Classifieds AND in the Free Business Directory and for that she gets a special little boost and thank you just from me!

Passionate about Port Elizabeth and definitely NOT packing for Perth. Alan's ethos is epitomised in the words of Nelson Mandela; "I have fought against white domination and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the idea of a democratic and free society. If need be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die." See more articles by Alan.
