Waste Management Services over Christmas

20 December 2012 By Alan Straton

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to reassure residents that it will continue to render waste management services on all the public holidays ahead, with the exception of Christmas Day, Tuesday 25 December 2012.

Therefore, all refuse collection rounds for the City, Northern, Uitenhage and Ibhayi areas that would have been serviced on Tuesday, 25 December 2012 will be now be serviced on Saturday, 22 December 2012. The exception is only the Motherwell Area, which will be serviced on Wednesday, 26 December 2012, instead of Tuesday 25 December 2012.

The affected residents of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality are required to adhere to this request by placing out their refuse for collection from 06h00 on Saturday, 22 December 2012 (please note that it is an offence to place refuse in the street prior to the day of collection).

All formal drop-off sites, transfer stations and disposal sites (Arlington and Koedoeskloof) will be closed on Christmas Day but will be open on all other days, as per normal.

Residents are requested not to give out or supply any Christmas gifts to the Refuse Collection Teams as they are earning a salary and bonus. Any misuse can be reported to the 0800 20 50 50.
