1. Registration Weekend – What a Success!
Thanks to the residents who gave up a couple of minutes of their time to register for next year’s election and/or check whether they are registered this weekend.
Those residents who missed the opportunity, the IEC will be having another registration drive in February 2014. Further details will follow closer to the time.
Last, but not least, a big thank you to everybody who assisted us at the various voting stations. It would not have been such a success without your help.
2. Refuse Collection Feedback
Since our last newsflash, we were inundated with queries w.r.t. refuse bags still not collected although a ‘contingency plan’ was put in place. We received the following feedback from the Metro on our query to Waste Management:
“… I have noted the content of your email below. There is a court interdict and the ED and Labour Relations will be addressing the workers this morning about it. We have organised trucks to service the areas but it is not easy to cover them all in one week-end. We will be in your areas during this week I let you know about the exact day late this afternoon…”
I have however just been informed telephonically that they will only collect the refuse bags on the normal days for the different areas.
Ward Report Back
You may use this form to contact these hard working Councillors: Ward 1, Ward 2, Ward 5, Ward 6 and Ward 9.
Why only these? Because these councillors regularly report back to their constituents via MyPE.
