Ward 9 News – IDP and Old Age Grants

12 June 2012 By Ward 9

To see how hard working Ward Councillors go about their jobs, see Ward 9 councillor, Heinrich Muller’s newsletter below. Scroll down to see the contact Details for Ward 9.

Invitation to IDP, Budget and Annual Report Public Participation Programme

The following e-mail from the Metro refers:

“…. the Municipality will be conducting a series of public meetings to present its IDP, Budget and Annual Report to the residents of Nelson Mandela Bay. These meetings will give all communities an opportunity to engage with the Municipality on its performance during the 2010/11 financial year, and provide comment/input towards the 2012/13 IDP and Budget.

All residents and employees of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality are encouraged to participate in this key planning and decision making process of the Municipality.

For more details on the programme, log onto www.nelsonmandelabay.gov.za. You may also go to Facebook to get the latest updates on the following pages: NMBM Events and Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality….”

Please take note that the next public meeting for Ward 9 will be held on Thursday, 14 June 2012 at 18h30 at the Newton Park Library.

Hope to see you all there. Sorry for the inconvenience and late notification, but once again the Metro was late in notifying the public.

Old Age Grant Queries

After receiving numerous queries from residents with regards to the re-registration for old age grants, I received the following notification from SASSA:

“SASSA has changed the decision to re-register (new SASSA cards) for all beneficiaries receiving their grants in banks (ACB) from June 2012. Beneficiaries are now requested to re-register from JANUARY 2013.

DO NOT WORRY, YOUR GRANT WILL NOT BE AFFECTED.”
