8 September 2018 By Alan Straton

Port Elizabeth born and raised singer and SA Idols judge, Unathi will be bringing her first national tour home next month. The Boardwalk looks forward to hosting her concert on her home soil on 15 September 2018. Unathi describes the Brave, True and Strong Tour as a celebration of women, perseverance and the beauty of life.

“We are delighted to have this homegrown songstress on our stage again next month. Fans can look forward to seeing her perform songs from her new album. We cannot wait to see Unathi performing in Port Elizabeth again,” says Ngobile Majozi, from The Boardwalk’s Marketing Department.

According to Unathi, the past few years have been both beautiful and challenging.

“I have taken control of my life and I know what I want to achieve. Be brave,” says Unathi.

Unathi describes her new album as joyful, emotional and a breath of fresh air, adding that her “sound is definitely what my (her) fans have come to know”.

“This album is the culmination of everything that is happening in my life. If you listen carefully you will hear me speak about parts of my life that I have never shared before. Be true,” says Unathi.

The latest single from the album, Hallo Sana, speaks of the plight of a working mother and the pain of having to leave her kids at home while she goes to work to put food on the table. This is a song about sacrifice and the joy that comes from giving up a lot just to make sure that your kids are happy, Hallo Sana speaks about the challenges that a lot of women face on a daily basis.

“I have lived this and I have seen the joy on my children’s faces when I go back home. Be strong.”

The #UnathiBTSTour will travel to seven cities, spanning six provinces. Tickets are on sale at Computicket for R150 per person and will also be available at the door on the night of the show at R200 per person. Ticket price includes a copy Unathi’s Brave, True and Strong album.
