Today’s Traffic Hooligan is DDH 872 EC

9 September 2012 By Alan Straton

This vehicle, registration number: DDH 872 EC, was spotted in Acres Shopping Centre, Perridgevale on 06/09/2012 at around 02:35 pm.

When asked why I was taking a photograph of his vehicle the driver told me that he had been distracted and on the phone to his girlfriend. He then followed my to my vehicle after I had told me that he was about to feature on MyPE as a hooligan driver, pleading with me to NOT publish the image. I did consider letting him off the hook but decided not to when he didn’t rush to his car and move it as requested.

Sorry Boet – you need to be much faster than that.

Passionate about Port Elizabeth and definitely NOT packing for Perth. Alan's ethos is epitomised in the words of Nelson Mandela; "I have fought against white domination and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the idea of a democratic and free society. If need be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die." See more articles by Alan.

One also needs to ask the question, Just what are the shopping centre management doing about the problem? It seems that they generally do not care, either. One well-positioned CCTV camera could draw attention to the transgressors – screen the footage on tv sets in every shop in the centre and send a security officer to clamp the wheels. Come to think of it, this could have the makings of a new TV show 🙂

Isn’t that the same Tsitsikamma company that was in the news recently regarding their horses? Perhaps they were distracted by something else as well when they were supposed to look after them.
