Port Elizabeth based Continental Tyre has been voted South Africa’s top tyre brand for the fourth consecutive year at the 2016 Standard Bank People’s Wheels Awards in Sandton.

The People’s Wheels Awards is run by the Future Group, in association with Standard Bank Vehicle and Asset Finance. The annual nationwide survey of vehicle owners determines which automotive brands are considered the best by SA’s motoring public.
Continental took the honours once again as South Africa’s Preferred Tyre Replacement Brand, having already won this coveted title for 2015, 2014 and 2013.
Accepting the award on behalf of Continental Tyre South Africa was the company’s Legal Director and Executive Board Member, Sivuyile Boqwana. “Winning the Standard Bank People’s Wheels Award for the fourth consecutive year is a fantastic achievement, and reflects Continental’s consistently high standards in terms of product quality, performance and safety, all of which is recognised and valued by the motoring public,” says Boqwana.
“Most of our tyres are produced locally at the Port Elizabeth plant, which conforms to the highest global standards for Continental Tyre worldwide,” Boqwana says. “This has helped us remain the only tyre manufacturer that supplies all local vehicle manufacturers in South Africa.
“This same level of quality is delivered to the replacement tyre market to ensure that customers benefit from the highest levels of all-round driving safety.”
Continental is a global leader in the development and manufacture of original equipment (OE) tyres to vehicle manufacturers, and retains its status as CTSA’s premium tyre brand with best-in-class braking.
