The Night Relay is Back

26 February 2013 By Zports

The Investec Night Relay is back for an early 2013 Summer series and entries are now open. The first race is in the first week of March, so rally your colleagues and challenge last year’s rivals in this year’s three part business relay series.

Held on the first Thursday evening of the next three months, the Investec Night Relay series kicks off on Thursday 7 March from North End Lake, where running teams of five or walking teams of three will tackle the 4.2km route around the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium precinct and North End Lake.

“We are delighted to be sponsoring the Investec Night Relay series once again,” said Cumesh Moodliar, Investec Specialist Bank regional manager.

“We are excited to be part of urban renewal, and this is a tremendous opportunity for Investec to join our friends and colleagues in the Port Elizabeth business community in a lively, healthy and fun-filled event.”

This is the second year Investec has sponsored the event with last year’s series attracting over 190 business teams and being recognised as a key teambuilding event within the local business community.

“This year’s event promises to be even more entertaining than last year, with a beer garden, braais and a DJ adding to the post-run festivities,” says organiser Michael Zoetmulder of Zports. “So don’t miss out – get your teams together, log on to our website and join in.”

The events start each evening at 6pm and prize giving follows the race at 8.45pm. Complimentary team photographs, winners’ medals, floating trophies, fantastic lucky draw prizes and live entertainment await the teams on race nights. A beer garden managed by the Rotary Club of PE Sunrise will be operational and open fires will be available for the teams.
