A run on the Wild Side
Perfect weather conditions are expected in the bay this Saturday as organizing club Achilles sets the stage for the annual Willows Resort Run. The event includes a 10km and a 5km run within the safe and picturesque Willows Resort. The entrance fee for the 10km is R35 for club members or R60 for a temporary licence and entry fee and R20 for the 5km. Runners to benefit MTR Smit
Achilles Amateur Athletic Association, the organizers of the annual Willows Resort Run, will focus on the 10km and 5km runs on Saturday the 17th of November. "This event is set apart from other events in the sense that it takes place in the safe confines of the resort with the idyllic setting as a backdrop and its natural environment as the route," said Herman Nell of Madiba Bay Resorts. 2011 Nelson Mandela Bay Urban Run Champion, Tim Ellerbeck, proved that he is just as capable on a Mountain Bike as he is negotiating urban obstacles by foot when he partnered Graeme van der Nest to win last Saturdays Varsity College MTB Relay Challenge held at the Willows Resort. Christmas Drowning Tragedy
www.MyPE.co.za: On Sunday 26 December NSRI Port Elizabeth volunteers and Emergency Services responded to Willows Gate 5 beach following reports of a drowning accident. On arrival on-scene paramedics attempted to resuscitate a male aged approximately 20, from Port Elizabeth, and after all efforts to resuscitate the man were exhausted he was declared dead.
