Letters to the Editor

Dear MyPE The DA welcomes Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality's long overdue decision to suspend Roland Williams, Municipal Director of Communications, and various other officials. Welcome to the idiot club Renaldo Gouws

28 March 2015 By Alan Straton

Roland Williams and Renaldo Gouws

Dear Renaldo Gouws I read with interest your 26 March tirade against Mr Roland Williams where you accuse him of "living off the fat of the land" and not really contributing much to the collective soul of our beautiful city. I must, sadly for you, take umbrage at your timing as my friend Roland Williams was scheduled to attend an important Press Conference that day - one that is bringing an international focus to our beautiful city. PLUS dear Roland was also invited to a civic reception … [Read more...] about Welcome to the idiot club Renaldo Gouws

A hop skip and a jump to a TWO

26 January 2015 By Alan Straton

Eskom Selfie

I watched the minute hand strike 12 midday today and braced myself for the slow whoosh of power leaving Group 6 only to see that nothing was shed. (See: Eskom has announced STAGE 1 LOADSHEDDING) "Oh joy," I thought to myself, "it looks like Eskom have found a little bit of power somewhere." How wrong could I be as Group 6 began load shedding at 14h00 jolting everyone into the knowledge that we had swerved Stage 1 and blundered straight into Stage 2. Anyway the heads up about Stage 2 came … [Read more...] about A hop skip and a jump to a TWO

Race no issue in rates boycott

11 December 2013 By Alan Straton

The article in the Weekend Post of November 30 on the rates boycott refers. Roland Williams, master of spin for the municipality, writes: "One cannot deny the fact that a major factor fuelling the very few who are propagating such illegality is their difficulty in accepting black majority rule".
