The 20th running of the SPAR Women's Challenge in Port Elizabeth on May 4 features a new venue, Little Ladies' race and bigger prizes, organisers announced at the launch yesterday. Top EP Triathlete Dan Howitz claimed the inaugural City Lodge Hotels Group 3 Beaches Challenge individual title yesterday morning as over 100 participants took to this new and exciting event. Howitz, who placed 2nd last weekend in the SA Triathlon championships at the same venue, had to fight hard for victory and took the lead with around 1km to go. Bluebottle Warning at Port Elizabeth’s Southern Beaches
The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality would like to warn beachgoers to strictly adhere to the instructions of lifeguards at the southern beaches as bluebottles are drifting towards Hobie, Humewood and Kings Beach at this stage.
