Experience the Red Tide underwater
On Monday 10 February 2014 Rainer Schimpf from Expert Tours and I launched off of Noorhoek to test out his GoPro Dolphin Cam. Yes we saw dolphins but they were 'confined' to a narrow stretch of water close to the shoreline that was free of the Red Tide that has plagued Algoa Bay and coast for the past month or so. Jared Harding writes; "For the past 3 weeks SAMREC has been rescuing African Penguins along the coast, from Gamtoos River Mouth all the way to the Fish River. "Over the past 3 weeks, we have admitted over 55 penguins and we are asking you all to please pass on the message, that any penguin that is seen on the beach is a penguin in need.
