Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA), a division of state-owned logistics company Transnet SOC, is once again warning the public against scams promising employment with the company in exchange for payment. Job seekers are still paying money to fraudsters in the belief that they will be employed by Transnet. On 14 July 2019 Transnet SOC Ltd advised all stakeholders that they had obtained a court interdict to stop the illegal strike action by employees at the Ngqura Container Terminal. The GENCO BRITTANY makes history in the Port of Ngqura by discharging the first cargo of raw material for the newly established Osho Cement factory in the Coega SEZ.

The young developing Port of Ngqura celebrated a milestone in its growth with the arrival of the first vessel discharging cargo for Osho Cement, a new cement manufacturer currently under construction in the Coega Special Economic Zone (SEZ). The GENCO BRITTANY discharged 55 410 tons of cement clinker and gypsum in bulk at the Multi-Purpose Terminal’s Finger Jetty – Berth C101. The completion of the R360 million Admin Craft Basin (ACB) in the Port of Ngqura has opened up opportunities for revenue growth in this young developing port. As the Ngqura Container Terminal approaches it's 6th birthday on 4th October 2015. Its birthday present came early when the terminal handled 75 000 Twenty Foot Equivalent Units (TEU) for the month of August 2015. This is the highest volumes handled in the second quarter of 2015/16 fiscal year. A R1.2-million deal was signed between the Coega Development Corporation (CDC) and ALE Heavylift South Africa, a heavy transport and lifting services company, for the storage of abnormal cargo in the Coega Industrial Development Zone's (IDZ) new lay-down area.
