In provincial and state hospitals, the burden of patient numbers and diseases is always high end and often bordering on burgeoning. If there is a significant loss of medical posts, … [Read more...] about College of Medicine of South Africa Comment on ‘Rebel’ Doctors
Three Doctors Singled out for Misconduct Investigation
One can only say that the administrative staff of the East Cape Department of Health continue to display mind numbingly single celled thinking..... The latest move under the hand of the Acting Chief Officer of the Eastern Cape Department of Health, Dr N.N. Qangule has been to deliver letters (dated 26 June 2012) inviting Dr Luwisile Pepeta (HOD of Paediatrics), Dr Basil Brown (HOD of Cardiology) and Dr Sats Pillay (HOD Surgery) to discuss 'Allegations of Misconduct' by stating that these … [Read more...] about Three Doctors Singled out for Misconduct Investigation
80% of SA’s Population Serviced by 18% of SA’s Doctors
Amidst dire warnings from the Clinical Heads of Units (CHUs) of specialist departments at Dora Nginza, Livingstone and Provincial hospitals yesterday (See: East Cape Doctors draw the line in the sand with Health Department) some sobering facts around the pitiful state of our Department of Health emerged some of which would, in a normal business, send dire warnings to sharholders to bail with extreme prejudice: Asof 1 July the casualty department at Dora Nginza will stop running if no staff … [Read more...] about 80% of SA’s Population Serviced by 18% of SA’s Doctors
