EP Cricket Ladies Sign Women’s Big Bash League Contracts

Two Eastern Province and SA Women's Cricket players, Dane van Niekerk and Marizanne Kapp have been contracted to play in the inaugural Women's Big Bash League taking place in December in Australia. They are the only two South Africans to sign full contracts. Dane who at the young age of 16 captained the SA U19's Women's team will be playing for the Mebourne Renegades. She has played 50 ODI's and 47 T20's for the Women's Protea team. Future participants in the SPAR Women's Challenge can start their training early following the introduction of the SPAR Little Ladies' Race in Port Elizabeth on May 1. The 2km fun run, which takes place from Pollok Beach in the Summerstrand area, will be open to all girls aged eight years and younger. Thursday 9th August the Ladies played their weeky competition, making use of Womens day. Competition  IBS 1st L Pitout 33 points 2nd M Mossner 30 points Nearest the pin on 5th G Klichowicz 17 players took part in good conditions.
