Kirkwood Wildsfees bomas hosting genetic auction
Prime game from the Eastern Cape will go under the hammer in September in the Mayogi Bomas built in partnership with the annual SPAR Kirkwood Wildsfees. This follows extensions to the bomas by Jannie Dorfling of Mayogi and his two sons Dirkie and Arno, according to Johan Swart of the Kirkwood Wildsfees auction committee. A record 51 thousand people of all ages visited the annual Absa Kirkwood Wildsfees from Friday, June 28 to Sunday, June 30. "Every year we continue to buck the recessionary conditions and grow in both numbers and sponsorship," says festival director Jenni Honsbein. In 2012 the festival attracted some 45 000 visitors.
