amaBhungane - the center for investigative journalism warns that there are strong signs of increasing Gang activity in Nelson Mandela Bay saying that the Port Elizabeth suburbs of Gelvandale and Bethelsdorp are leading the violent trend. The SAPS intervention team including the Gang Task Team have made significant arrests of suspects allegedly involved in gang-related crimes in the Northern areas of Port Elizabeth last week. It is alleged that on Sunday, 3 January 2016 at about 20:00, 4 men were standing at a block of flats in Shauderville when they noticed a vehicle dropping off two men.
