Kraaifontein Shooting Video – Where you also duped?

29 October 2017 By Alan Straton

Cowboy Gun

Today's lesson (and one for the foreseeable future) is: "Fact Check Everything on Social Media or Shared With You as the SUPPOSED TRUTH." It could be, as the gentleman says in this video; "KAK Praat". The video above has been widely shared on Social Media and is JUST a MOVIE. When I first viewed it I said that it appeared that the person filming KNEW what was about to happen and was far too calm as an 'innocent' bystander. In my old age I have become cynical and cautious before sharing … [Read more...] about Kraaifontein Shooting Video – Where you also duped?

Eight ways to curb Northern Areas gangsterism

5 July 2015 By Alan Straton

Letters to the Editor

Dear MyPE The fight against gangsterism in the Port Elizabeth Northern Areas must be treated as a war. It needs one central champion that will implement a multi-disciplinary approach which involves all stakeholders. When I met with the provincial police management last week, with the legislature portfolio committee on safety and security, I raised this matter and pointed out that there needs to be a single champion that bring all the role-players together. The DA believes that the … [Read more...] about Eight ways to curb Northern Areas gangsterism

These residents were forced by the … [Read more...] about Gangsterism is rife in PE northern areas

Queue Jumping in Korsten leads to Gun and Knife threat

9 April 2014 By Alan Straton

This morning early I took a scenic drive down to the Traffic and Licensing Department in Korsten. After being threatened I decided to leave the area and rather go to another facility - like in Humansdorp, Kirkwood or Uitenhage. It went down like this: Arriving at the facility I was literally swamped by 6 or more thin and hungry looking guys with teeth that would have benefited from an extensive session with Dr Hoskins - all vying for me to "take a foter", look after my car "very gut my … [Read more...] about Queue Jumping in Korsten leads to Gun and Knife threat
