The most frustrating thing about watching the dam levels is that it may be raining over Chez MyPE and making greenery, well, green but at the same time the damn dams may not be receiving a smidgin of much needed rain. Dam Levels NOT Affected by Rain
Despite some pretty high rainfall figures the dam levels of the major dams supplying Nelson Mandela Bay continue their slide towards the critical 30% capacity level. The Loerie Dam, for example, had 65mm of rain in the catchment area and despite the Baviaans River overflowing it's banks the capacity still dropped from 50.4% on 31 January to 47.6% on 7 February.
