The Rand will be renamed the Zupta

Rand taking a Pummeling

President Zuma has proven in the past that radical needed change by the ANC to benefit the countries citizens and, by extension, the government of the governing party will not happen. SONA will once again be the adult kindergarten that will show the citizens of South Africa that the only way to live off the rapidly depleting fat of the land is as a politician hell bent on defending party politics and NOT as a responsible citizen that puts South Africa and it's citizens first. We may as well blame Jacob Zuma for the increase in the Murder Rate

2 September 2016 By Alan Straton

http://mype.co.za/new/why-our-sorry-rand-is-performing-so-badly/59373/2016/01

We seem to be blaming our President for every wrong thing these days so we may as well blame him for the increase in our country's murder rate as well. (In the run up to the 2016 Elections around 20 politicians were murdered - some may say that is too few!) The South African Police Ministry's top brass appeared before the Parliamentary Committee of Police on Friday to table the 2015/16 crime statistics. Looking at the graph of the increase in Murder Rate after a steady drop was arrested in … [Read more...] about We may as well blame Jacob Zuma for the increase in the Murder Rate

Why is the Rand getting healthier?

10 August 2016 By Alan Straton

Rand Health Check

And why Political Parties should be taking notice. On 3 August 206 MyPE began tweeting the Rand Dollar exchange rate daily at 7:30 am. Over the last week the rand has been steadily gaining ground on the dollar starting at R14.0332 and today trading at R13.3729 to the dollar. Could this be as a result of our vigorous elections process demonstrating the power of people and democracy at work? One wonders what will happen when South Africa demonstrates the first hurdle rarely crossed by … [Read more...] about Why is the Rand getting healthier?

Interest rates will rise on back of poor rand – experts

20 January 2016 By News24Wire

Rand taking a Pummeling

Nedbank's economic unit said on Wednesday that in an environment with a rapidly deteriorating inflation outlook, the South African Reserve Bank (Sarb) would have no choice but to raise rates to contain inflationary expectations and restore financial stability. This was in reaction to the announcement by Statistics SA that South Africa's annual consumer price inflation rose to 5.2% in December 2015. This was in line with expectations and 4 percentage points higher than November's 4.8% rise. It … [Read more...] about Interest rates will rise on back of poor rand – experts

Weak Rand equals Higher Petrol Price

17 January 2016 By News24Wire

Rand taking a Pummeling

If the rand/dollar exchange rate had remained flat in 2015, South Africans would currently have been paying on average 45 cents a litre less at the pumps, the Automobile Association (AA) said on Friday. This estimate is based on unaudited mid-month data released by the Central Energy Fund (CEF). "South Africa's sagging rand/US dollar exchange rate continues to take the shine off ongoing international oil price weakness," the AA explained. "This deficit has widened by another 32 cents … [Read more...] about Weak Rand equals Higher Petrol Price
