The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality would like to inform residents and businesses that there has been a burst on the Churchill/ Elandsjagt Bulk water pipeline. Unfortunately with the nature of repair we will have to shut down both pipelines, but will resume supply in one of the pipelines as soon as it becomes available. Conserve Water During Planned Shutdown of Churchill Pipeline
The Municipality is appealing to consumers to use water sparingly this weekend as a planned shutdown of the recently repaired Churchill pipeline is scheduled in order to apply a corrosion protective lining to the inside of the pipeline. This work will only be done on the larger (1100 mm diameter) pipe. The smaller 750 mm diameter pipeline will continue supplying water to the Metro. Slight Increase in Dam Levels
www.MyPE.co.za: It seems as though we are living on the edge of the 30% of total capacity in the dams supplying the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro with the recent rains increasing the total dam levels by a mere 0.14% to 31.64% from 31.5% on 13 December 2010.
