GMSA Gives Back

"We give back" is the mantra that General Motors South Africa (GMSA) employees live by. When the Christmas trees, filled with tags for disadvantaged children, are set up a month before Christmas at all GMSA sites, employees rush to grab their tag in order to bring joy to the lives to the littles ones. This project saw over 300 gifts under the trees that were donated to the Community Chest to distribute to four different children's homes in Port Elizabeth. Every year employees … [Read more...] about We give back

The competition to attract consumers is heating up

Merry Christmas

With South Africa's biggest consumer holiday in full swing and just days to go before Christmas, South Africa's malls are upping the ante to lure shoppers. With increased competition between malls to attract holiday spenders, giveaways and specials are no longer enough to get feet through the door, say analysts. Now malls are upping the ante, from slashing their paid parking fees to offering confused Christmas shoppers a hand-picked shortlist of "that perfect gift" via … [Read more...] about The competition to attract consumers is heating up

A Christmas present from Eskom?

19 December 2014 By Alan Straton

Although constrained, South Africa's power system is expected to remain stable for this week and for the rest of the festive season, said power utility Eskom. "The power system is expected to remain constrained but stable this week and the rest of the festive season and as a result the risk of load-shedding is low during this period," said the utility in its system status bulletin on Thursday. However, the system remains vulnerable meaning that any extra load or faults in the system may … [Read more...] about A Christmas present from Eskom?
