Expect a belated Christmas present from the DoE

The Department of Energy on Monday assured South Africans that there will sufficient supply of petrol and diesel this festive season.

“As we enter one of the busiest periods in the annual calendar, the Department of Energy takes this opportunity to inform South Africans that the oil companies have provided assurances that petrol and diesel will be available throughout the country,” said the department.

The department also expects to announce the third consecutive significant fuel price decrease for January 2015.

“The expected decrease is due to decreases of crude oil prices that have been witnessed in the international markets during the preceding months.

“The nation is reminded that the current electricity challenge requires all of us to conserve power. Whether you are at home or away, ‘live lightly’ and switch off power that you don’t need! ,” it added.

Energy Minister Tina Joemat-Pettersson also took the time to wish South Africans a restful festive season to be enjoyed with family and friends while also reminding motorists to drive safely and observe speed limits. – SAnews.gov.za
