Just received the e-mail below and being the cynic that I am I had to phone Bushy Park Dairy to check the veracity of the information:
One of our greatest Proudly PE’ businesses’ is closing its doors. Sob! Please help me to show Bushy Park dairy that we CAN support a local business. The dairy employs so many people and is such an asset to this city. Now the dairy and its ‘satelite’ shops are shutting.
Please let’s show them that we can support them by buying your milk, yoghurt, ice cream – even your honey and eggs from their shops. It might mean an extra stop – but it is SO WORTH IT.
Bushy Park products are also in some Pick n Pay and Spar stores. The dairy products are RBST-free from healthy, happy cows on the Seaview Road. They sponsor school events, are great employers and support wonderful families.
C’mon PE, … we need to take care of each other. Please pass this on…..
According to the woman who answered the phone yes it is true and she has fielded many calls today.
The approximately 74 employees face a bleak future with no jobs.
If we cannot support local then we will contribute to the demise of our economy.
You know what to do.

This has nothing to do with the proposed wind farm on their property, does it?
Julius Malema strikes again! If I was a farmer, would I want to be around when he becomes president…
Well whatever their reason it is very sad. Their ice cream, and double cream with fruit yoghurt is absolutely the best money can buy. I am going to have some very unhappy guests – who actually take of these yoghurts’ home with them – back to Cape Town and Jhb.
I even had a mate of mine phone me today and say that he was going to accelerate his buying of their products – also raved about their yoghurt.
Apparently the process needs to take it’s course to end July before the axe can fall.
And, WD40 I also asked about the wind farm – it was scuppered by the farm’s neighbours earlier this year
I must agree – the quality of all their products are fantastic and the prices, rock bottom. Sadly, the small enterprise, in whatever form, will be destroyed by the big corporates. When the consumer has less option, quality and service diminish while price sky-rockets.
