General Motors South Africa (GMSA) sales for November 2014 reflected an industry-wide slow-down, with 4 166 domestic units retailed for the month. The industry reported a total of 51 098 retail sales, down 13.9% versus last month.
Year to date, GMSA sales volume is in line with the industry, down slightly versus 2013.
“It is difficult to interpret the NAAMSA results this month, with some wild fluctuations in reporting from manufacturer to manufacturer. Overall, the downward trend is undeniable,” comments Brian Olson, GMSA Vice President of Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing.
“Our dealer passenger vehicle sales held up quite well, with the Chevrolet Trailblazer having its best month of the year in November. Captiva and Spark were also strong contributors in the passenger segment. The Isuzu KB, with the recently-launched Midnite Edition, also proved to be resilient in a declining market.”
