Shine on You Crazy Diamond

For the longhair and I this is a can’t miss show – Crazy Diamond, a tribute to Pink Floyd, will be performed for one night only on Saturday 19 May 2012 at the Boardwalk Casino.

Crazy Diamond is a multi-dimensional show and will take the audience on a scintillating two hour journey that follows the history of Pink Floyd, seen through the eyes of Keith Barrett, one of the group’s founding members.

Crazy Diamond covers a wide spectrum of Pink Floyd’s music ranging from the band’s first album The Piper at the Gates of Dawn and continuing through A Saucer Full of Secrets to the more ‘modern’ Floyd music of The Wall to A Momentary Lapse of Reason and the last Pink Floyd album The Division Bell.

Taking centre stage in this production is guitarist, songwriter Mel Botes with Simon Orange on Hammond organ, piano and backing vocals; MD Greyling on acoustic guitar and vocals; Theuns Botha on drums; and Barry Steenkamp on bass guitar. Backing vocals are from Hannah Erasmus and Natalie Chapman.

Crazy Diamond also pays tribute to the elaborate Pink Floyd concerts and includes dynamic screen-projected images.

Crazy Diamond, a tribute to Pink Floyd is on at the Vodacom Amphitheatre at the Boardwalk Casino at 19h30 on Saturday 19 May 2012. Tickets are R130 each and booking is through Computicket.
