The time has come to issue our Councillors, and municipal people in the public eye, with a standard Nelson Mandela Bay uniform.

This image was circulated via official Nelson Mandela Bay Municipal media channels.

Just looking at the image of Cllr Zanele Sikawuti one can see just which political party she represents.

By doing so she is creating a division in the Ward and the City which pays her ‘hard earned’ salary and whose coffers are filled by people from many political backgrounds.

What the Councillor is doing is hijacking the work that she does on behalf of the Municipality, Ward 57 and the Electrical & Energy Directorate for her own personal gain along with the party that she represents.

Councillors must not get confused here – they do work in our City for OUR Citizens and NOT for their political parties or personal pockets.

Just imagine if you were the owner of Volkswagen and your employee came to work wearing an ISUZU T-Shirt!

The same rules apply here Councillor.
